Rainbow Guardians: Chapter 13
Chapter 13: The Harmonial Tale
Everything outside my window became laser showers as we passed them. The ship was going ten times faster than the light speed to Starland. Anny levitated and served some Lovelonian nogs; it was one of the traditional drinks of her planet. I took a sip from the light goodness. Lovelonia nog tasted like creamy foam mixed with bitter chocolate and dried fruits. We seriously needed that energy boost because we’d been travelling for at least two days. I stared at everybody around. Mistress and her assistants were examining the status of the ship. Nelly and Anny were talking about something I couldn’t hear; Shanya was silently drinking her nog, probably enjoying it. Neesha’s eyes met mine, and I raised one brow.
“What’s the matter, Nish?” I asked, blowing my cup.
“Uh, nothing,” She replied, crossing her legs. “I wondered why you were staring.”
“I’m just bored you know,” I said flatly. “All the things that happened are just… Way too sudden.”
“Life is a whirlpool we have to strike to reach the pearl.”
Well, that was profound. I didn’t know where she was getting those concepts, but she was a Dimenian after all. They were famous for their intelligence. I nodded at her words and shrugged; the divine will be usually beyond our comprehension. There was only thing certain on my mind at that moment: The chance of kicking the flanks of Negavisian scumbags! That’d be a relief for all of us; I mean they had deserved it after all. I couldn’t wait for the moment I was going to see them.
Hey, don’t think of me only as a violence machine dear reader. Our cause was ‘righteous’ according to both divine and material law. We were considered as the aggrieved people whereas the Negavisians were cruel ones. I mean what sort of person could throw everything on fire just for their desire’s sake? Lord Stephen Fag-o or Hugo, whatever his name is, has a screw missing, and I got to say his crew also must have gone berserk. What could exterminate the five planets give you? Nothing, a huge nothing!
Well, Negavisians would be alone in this freaking dimension and have contact with other galaxies. They had to be stopped instantly; on the other hand, they could cause deprivation and chaos in the universal harmony. I didn’t wanna count the risk of another civil war among them. I shook my head. They had been restricted by the council for a long time, and I sort of grasped their condition. Our technology evolved immensely because we could travel all around our galaxy and beyond. Nevertheless, they still possessed old, modified ships from a millennium ago. Look, I may not be bright like Neesha or tranquil like Shanya, but I do have a sense of my own. Suddenly, my silver-haired friend grinned at me. I frowned and elbowed her shoulder.
“Nish, did you read my thoughts?!”
“Maybe,” she replied, rolling her eyes with a glee. “I was bored too. OK?”
“S-shut up! It’s inappropriate. You know?” I said and growled, pouting.
She just drifted into a fit of laughter. Somehow, she managed to do it silently. It must have been another Dimenian skill. Neesha patted my shoulder and squeezed my hand. I only smiled slightly.
The engines began to get quitter; my soles went back and forth. It had been indeed a bumpy ride. Our pilot activated the stabilisers and the invisibility shield. The supersonic radars of Starland might have recognised us, which meant danger. After all, the light kingdom had been occupied for a while. I held onto my couch with my all might. The ship shuddered as it came closer to the ground; the terrain must have been too rough to land. The vehicle stopped a few minutes later.
“OK everyone, our mission starts from now on. I want you to check out your maps and details once more,” Mistress Persephone started to speak. “May the Almighty’s help be with us! Good luck everybody.”
I opened my map hologram on my palm. We were at the Halley Mountains of Starland. These were the highest mountains on the planet, about 5000 meters high. At the skirts of the mountains, there was a cave. It was our target region and had a very fluxional lake called ‘Lumina.’ Lumina was the spring of the largest lake of the kingdom, Starry Lake. We exited the ship and walked on the icy surface; the frosty, shimmery snow beneath prickled our feet as if confirming the harshness of our mission.

I was in a misty atmosphere. It was so thick that I only saw the chunk of grey before me. I tried to touch it, and it dissolved at my touch. My eyes closed; I passed the fog as swiftly as I could. The humidity had vanished; I gingerly opened my hazelnut irises.
There was a metal wall around me. I couldn’t recognise the type of metal on it. It had a holographic texture with royal purple and silver. I noticed something familiar at the centre. My father’s family symbol was carved onto it: An edgy spiral with twirling lines. It reminded of me two things, a whirlpool or a windmill. There were also leaf and vine designs surrounding the symbol. I approached it more and touched it.
A streak of energy burst out of my chest, encircling the emblem; however, it didn’t burn like before. The way it moved just felt… Natural. The great flashes from my chest boomed the wall, and some swirls held it like tree roots. They both shattered the wall into pieces, only leaving the middle part. The symbol turned into a medallion and landed on my palms. It blinded me with a bright light; a voice echoed:
“YOU MUST OBTAIN THE AMULET OF MEGAVOID, FIND YOUR ROOTS!”
“Alexander, Alexander, son!” A familiar person called me from afar, shaking my shoulders.
“AMULET OF MEGAVOID!” I yelled and instantly came back to the reality.
“Are you OK Alex?”
That voice belonged to my newest tutor, Mr. Lextrum. His face was washed with worry.
“Sorry, professor. I dozed off,” I apologised, scratching my nape. “I think I saw one of those cue dreams.”
“It’s fine Alex but try not to conk out in the library next time.” He winked reassuringly and stared at the book under my elbows. It was a history chronicle. I had been searching for some info about the origins of Megavoids; however, my efforts were fruitless. Mr. Lextrum opened the book and drew the spiral in my dream.
Well, I want to make one thing clear dear reader. The books in our dimension are not like the usual ones you know. Just like our computers, they are three-dimensional holograms with digital features. Also, the bookshelves are giant, transparent chips. You can imagine them as transparent columns with circuits. I walked to another shelf and wrote ‘Negavise’ on its surface. This time the system gave an error, but a single book managed to get out. I caught it in the air and climbed as fast as I could.
From afar, I noticed the facepalm of Mr. Lextrum, approaching me. He grabbed me from my shoulder, took us to the lending table and showed his ID card to the librarian. She lowered her glasses and examined the card. With a barcode reader, she scanned the book and nodded us to go on. As we were exiting, she ran towards the signalling column. I turned my head to my tutor; he had a serious expression.
“For the sake of the Creator, Alex what were you thinking?!”
“I thought some information about Negavisians would help me with my training,” I replied hesitantly.
“Look my boy, I understand that you want to get better, but weren’t the documents I gave you enough?” Lextrum inquired, letting out a sigh.
“They were only the basics professor,” I said and looked at the ground. “It’s just… I have been having weird dreams about my heritage or the events.”
“Dreams about your heritage and the events? How?”
I tightened my fists and breathed in deeply. Taking out my phone, I scanned my conscience to gather data. The device took photos of my mental imagery, my dream particles. I gave my phone to Lextrum, and he began to analyse the content. With each second, his eyes grew bigger due to my dream photos. He swiped down until the last dream of mine, leading his hand to his chin; his gaze was completely focused on the symbol.
“Alexander, I’m really glad you told me about this,” Lextrum started to speak, returning my phone. “Your dreams are probably occurring because of your ancestors’ collective unconscious.”
“Which means?”
“My boy, everyone has certain archetypes coded in their genes. This includes your family history too. Briefly, not only the physical attributes of your parents pass to you but also their psychic energy including the most significant memories pass on to you.” Lextrum explained.
“But what about the hints of the future?”
“It is about your divine point too. I can confirm that your elemental gift is your sight from what I observed,” He affirmed, smiling. “I think your amulet of Megavoid can respond to all the questions.”
I remembered once Friggia had shown me an old, dusty seal with a long chain. It was awfully similar to the item in my dream, and I could predict where my dad put it. Before that, however, I had an exercise session of Sanjutsu to work on. If you consider what the heck ninjutsu is, let me explain a little. Sanjutsu is the art of survival in a battlefield; it includes many subtle techniques of defence, attacking and withdrawing.
According to Lextrum, I seriously needed some improvement with my reflexes, so, I started to learn sanjutsu. Suddenly, I sensed a grip on my wrist, pulling me. Mr. Lextrum dragged me into the gym before I could drown in my sea of thoughts. Nevertheless, he didn’t know that the talk we had already absorbed me into the veil of enigmas.

It’d been a few hours, and we were still walking down. My legs and hips were tense and sour as a puppet. I held one of the rocks and checked my map once more. We only managed to walk only the half of the road! ‘Oh, the Almighty, grant me some patience!’ I prayed inside my head. If there weren’t any legit reasons, I wouldn’t have moved a single muscle! The council was lucky to have the strong people of my planet, Volcanotopia. I began to remind myself of the background of this mission. I really needed some push to proceed.
***
“I’m so sorry to cut our ball short, and I present you my most profound gratitude for coming with me.”
“We do have an urgent matter on our hands, so you don’t have to apologise Persephone. “Count Hermes replied, putting a hand on her shoulder.
“Well, what shall we do now?” asked Neesha.
“Princess Neesha, as we declared before, we are going to fight with Stephen’s followers and Shadow Galactica. To answer how let me express the whole plot of Akilah and my recent additions,” He replied and continued. “Akilah wished to use our five princesses as a disguise to perform a secret operation on Shadow Galactica. By giving them symbolic ranks on the paper, she wanted to ambush her prey at its both vulnerable and vicious side. Basically, we are going to proceed with this.”
“Doesn’t it mean to risk our heiresses?” Mr. Castor rose from his seat.
“You haven’t heard about my intentions yet Castor,” He responded. “I think we should start our battle from Starland, the ancestral lands of our foundation. We will support our princesses with our military. We should go to the first quarters of the council. I remember there is a shortcut to the depths there; thus, we can bust them from an unlikely spot. Also, we can extract the remains of the psychic energies of the first council members to enhance princesses’ fusion weapons.”
“This is quite rational dear Count,” King Adam agreed with him. “What do you say everyone?”
“It is fairly risky, but I can’t comprehend any other option. “Persephone told.
“Indeed. Volcanotopia is ready to give you any assistance.” Duchess Reina said.
“Perfect. What do you say my dear Terrans and Lovelonians?”
“Well, if Mistress Persephone accepts it, we do too.” Queen Gaea answered.
Mistress bowed her head lightly and smiled at her. Meanwhile, Lovelonians were discussing with each other. Princess Annalise took a step forward.
“I am gladly announcing to you the alliance of Lovelonia!” She spoke joyfully.
“But first we need to inform our princesses about the background of this situation,” Persephone pointed out. “If you’ll let me, I’d like to tell you everything.”
“Of course, go on Mistress.”
Persephone began to tell a tale. It was no ordinary one, to be honest. Here let me summarise everything for you. A Millennium ago, Negavise flourished with arts and sciences; it became a centre of wisdom and education. They built the first fusion weapons, long-distance ships and teleport stations. The local core energy of the kingdom barely supplied the needs of the immense population and advanced technologies. Moreover, with the death of King Hades, the three heirs of Negavise fought to be the king. The two older brothers, Prince Steven Hugo and Prince Galactica combined their forces and eliminated the victory of their youngest brother, Prince Alexander. Discouraged and defeated, Alexander gave up his right as an heir. The two brothers, on the other hand, used their alliance to colonise the potential cores of the other planets. They tied them to very harsh agreements and conditions and gained full access to their nuclei. The other five kingdoms paid very expensive yearly taxes to them too. For a few decades, this kept going like this; however, this large wealth caused greed and a challenge between brothers. Their alliance broke off, and they drove the country into a civil war. Both Prince Stephen and Galactica claimed the throne for themselves and fought for a while. This inconsistency, however, opened up the eyes of other kingdoms. Within the leadership of Queen Starla of Lumina (Starland), Queen Lovelonia, Queen Magma, King Dimenia and King Dagda formed a council to regain what they lost. As a surprise transfer, Prince Alexander of Negavise joined them to stop the devastation his siblings caused everywhere. In Starland, Starbreaker cave, they formed their secret headquarters. They called themselves ‘The Harmonial Council.’ With all their might, they fought against Negavise and won the battle; however, they lost everything they had too. Queen Magma and King Dimenia died, and two brothers with Negavisians were punished. The Council became the centre of governing of the dimension; the five planets became constitutional monarchies.
They say the history replies itself. It was true for us at the moment. There was another existential crisis in our dimension, and we had to end it soon. Or else, we wouldn’t repair our scars this time. It was an ancient tale, my dear fellow. It was a harmonial tale.
